Ethiolab Equipment Supply was proud to participate as a sponsor of the Africa Water Security Conference (AWS-2026), held in Addis Ababa from September 21–23, 2026.
Organized by the Africa Center of Excellence for Water Management (ACEWM), Addis Ababa University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Energy, the three-day conference brought together researchers, academics, policymakers, development partners, practitioners, and professionals to explore some of Africa’s most pressing water-security challenges.
The conference brought together diverse perspectives on water quality, WASH, groundwater, wastewater, climate resilience, ecosystems, agriculture, microplastic pollution, and transboundary water resources. Through scientific presentations, plenary sessions, panel discussions, and professional exchanges, participants explored the interconnected challenges shaping water security in Ethiopia and across Africa.
For Ethiolab, AWS-2026 was an opportunity to go beyond participation—to listen, learn, connect, and better understand the scientific and practical needs of professionals working across the water sector. We engaged with researchers, academics, development organizations, institutions, and professionals whose work spans water quality, environmental monitoring, research, WASH, and broader water-security challenges.
A key message throughout the conference was the importance of reliable science and reliable data in supporting better decisions. This connects directly with Ethiolab’s role in supporting laboratories and institutions with laboratory technologies, technical consultation, installation, training, calibration, and after-sales support.
We are grateful to ACEWM, Addis Ababa University, and the Ministry of Water and Energy for bringing together such a diverse community and creating a platform for meaningful scientific and professional exchange.
Although AWS-2026 has concluded, the conversations and connections continue.
